Responsibilities
  • Responsible for oversight of the overall operation, maintenance, and modification of all critical environment building systems including: mechanical (including HVAC, computer room air conditioners, chillers and plumbing) electrical (UPS, switchgear, PDUs and generators), fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, building/environment management systems. 
  • Develop power down scripts working closely with vendors ensuring established processes are followed and power down are properly planned and executed
  • Supervise 24x7 shift technicians ensuring client processes are followed including oversight of priorities, shift staffing, recruiting and training. Ensure staff are properly trained and qualified for their assigned facilities and associated work in a critical environment.
  • Implementing and managing 52 weeks PPMs using clients asset management system and monthly engineering reports. Also has strong skills and experience in raised floor critical operating environments and associated procedures and best practices.
  • Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer and manage the safety training program.
  • Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of building’s infrastructure. Responsible for incident management, mock drills and building operation discrepancies.
  • Oversight for the development of an annual maintenance and capital plans which would include planning for infra-structure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure the building’s future capabilities are maintained.
  • Perform engineering management function including development of facility R&M budgets, contract oversight and vendor management, client interface and satisfaction and overall facility performance.
  • Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working including annual and routine power shutdown activities. Includes implementation of training and notifications to all contractors so that they are informed and knowledgeable with respects to the building’s critical functions and the work they are to perform.
  • Maintain effective communication with all external and internal customers, including clients, property and project management and engineering staff.
  • Review of methods of procedure, risk assessment and change management request.
  • Approve Permit to work tickets, Change Management requests and submission of all weekly, monthly reports following client process meeting committed timelines.
  • Ensure incidents are promptly escalated following established escalation matrices.
  • Ensure timely financial reporting, submission of variable spend for approval, vendor invoice processing, monthly Performance Management, Management reporting and HSE reporting following established processes and timelines
Qualifications and Education
  • Engineering qualification Electrical or Mechanical – essential
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in leading a team of maintenance technicians within a corporate account ideally banking or data center sites
  • Strong Communications and interpersonal skills
  • Computer and Finance skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Safety, Security and Controls awareness.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems in a building

  • Must be proficient in using the Internet, building management system and Microsoft Office programs including MSWord and MS-Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Good working knowledge of Finance processes
